vol-10-issue-10-october-2016

The 8th Annual Hebron Block Party was held on Saturday, September 17th, from 10 am to 10 pm at the new location on the Community Center lot. It was a gorgeous day and the crowds came out to enjoy it.
We have tried to stuff as many pictures from the event in this month’s newsletter, but more can be found on our Facebook page.
As always, it takes a village to put on a production like this. We want to recognize the Block Party Committee, who worked so hard to organize and plan this: Deputy Water Clerk Susan Alyea, Yvette Frey, Chloe Frey, Clerk – Treasurer Fred Siminski, Councilperson Kim Mouratides, Linda Brebner, Christine Singel, Becky Joseph, Pam Brotko and Merle Foresman. You are all heroes in our book!

Survey is coming soon!
The Town of Hebron will be conducting a mail survey in the coming months to obtain information necessary to apply for Community Development Block Grant Funds to be used to reduce flooding in town. Your cooperation in completing the survey form and returning it is a very important requirement for the Town to be awarded the grant.
Hydrant Flushing this month
We wanted to remind you of hydrant flushing throughout town this month. From October 17th through the 28th, our Public Works employees will be going around town and opening the hydrants for a short amount of time. During that timeframe, you should take care with your washing. There could be some dark colored water in the pipes during that time. If you see them in your neighborhood, it may be best to wait to wash your clothes until afterwards and you have run a small amount of water through your pipes to ensure the water is running clear. This necessary inconvenience helps keep our water pipes clear of sediment and ensures that our hydrants aren’t stuck. We appreciate your patience, as always.

Hebron Park News
Allison And Amanda Beck have been working hard all year gathering up their research and promoting the idea of a dog park in Hebron. The Parks department is happy to support them in this venture! They presented information and offering buttons, t shirts and other things at our booth at the block party. We are proud of their efforts and hope to have more happy news soon.
Thank you again to Hebron Girl Scouts Troup 30314 for your help at the Block Party and for doing such an amazing job repairing the gazebo at Alyea Park. You are all our heroes of the month!
