Vol 10 Issue 9 September 2016

Text Only Version –

The Hebron Block Party is coming roaring back on Saturday, September 17th. This year, it will be held at the Community Center at 611 N. Main Street from 10 am – 10 pm. There will be parking next to Family Express, in the grass in front of the Bowling Alley.

This year’s entertainment starts at 10 am, with the Flag Raising by our American Legion Post #190, followed by Pony Rides going until 6 pm. Little John will take the stage at 11:30 am and 6 pm for his Magic Show, sure to be a hit with the smaller children! At 1 pm, our own Curt’s “Essence of Elvis Show” returns for 2 hours with the King of Rock. At 4 pm until 6, Rebuild and Rebound will be on the main stage, rockin’ the party. At 4:30, Indiana Wild Animals will be under the Pavilion for an hour with their animals and message of conservation! Then, the headliners, the Allen Wronko Band will be bringing the country home to Hebron for a 2 hour show from 8 to 10 p.m. to close the night!

There will be other vendors also; food vendors, face painting, balloons, a bounce house, crafts, games, and a beer garden for the young at heart! There will hardly be a blade of grass showing once all the tents and stages are set up.

Come and go all day long and have fun with your neighbors!

Thank you to the volunteers who have put this together so far, we are very proud of your hard work and cannot wait to attend with you!

A special thanks goes out to our major sponsors; Nitco, Nipsco, McMahon & Associates, Midwest Contract Operations, and Jay Kempton Productions (for providing the stage)! We could not have such a great event without you!

Hebron Park News – We had an exciting August! We were able to complete the Toddler/Pre-K park upgrades at Brian Novreske Memorial Park on Church Street (pictured below) with the mulch and safety bumpers! We are closing the plastic cap donations September 1st to make new park benches out of! We also had a ton of help to rehabilitate the gazebo at Alyea Park.

Hebron Girl Scout troop 30314 is earning their bronze award this year by repairing the gazebo at Alyea Park. This weekend they started their project along with the Hebron Redevelopment Commission, Hebron Masonic Lodge, Hebron Methodist Church, Hebron Park Board, and volunteers. Thank you to everyone who helped start this project. The girls are hoping to bring events and more people to this park to help reduce vandalizing and other issues.
